Reborn Electric Motors, the first and only electric bus factory in Chile, opened its doors to showcase its manufacturing process and highlight its most significant milestones. Founded 7 years ago, the startup initially focused on converting diesel buses to electric. However, in 2022, they inaugurated the first factory for new electric buses in Chile, marking a milestone in the industry. Currently, they have over 100 operational units in Chile and are expanding their reach to Brazil.
During an exclusive tour for the media, the company emphasized its commitment to sustainability and innovation. They presented their latest model, the Queltehue Turismo 2024, of which there are already 20 units in operation. Additionally, they shared their future plans, including a public-private partnership to develop Chile's first green hydrogen bus, scheduled to be operational by 2025. They also announced the export of their first new bus to Brazil.
Felipe Cevallos, CEO and co-founder of Reborn Electric Motors, expressed satisfaction with the achievements and highlighted Chile's potential for technological innovation in a more sustainable world. Their work not only drives electromobility in the region but has also been internationally recognized, with awards such as Innovators Under 35 Latam 2023.
