First of all, your career

I am a civil electrical engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where I also completed a master's degree in Electrical Engineering in the electric vehicle laboratory. Additionally, during my university years, I ventured into entrepreneurship, collaborating with other people in the attempt to create two startups. The first was called “Project Seco”, which consisted of a solar nut dryer, and the second was “Solgel”, a venture focused on analyzing energy tenders and being able to offer companies that specifically sell energy software to optimize the offer price in the tenders.

How did you get to Reborn and what motivated you to work on this startup?

Today we work as colleagues, but the truth is that Ricardo Repenning, one of the founders, was my professor at university and he contacted me to work with the Reborn team. It was difficult for me to accept, because I was focused on the master's degree I was doing at that time, but I thought about it carefully and decided to join the team at the end of 2019. It has been the best decision; I do not regret it. I wanted to contribute to the development of technology in Chile, both for the country and for the world, and I believe that Reborn is the best company to start this path.

These years in REM…

I started at Reborn as an electrical development engineer and later was assigned to me the role of project manager for the creation of the factory in Rancagua, the first of its kind in South America, focused on the manufacturing of electric buses. Together with my colleague Javier Vera we designed the infrastructure, acquired the machinery and developed the first work equipment. After that, and with a technical team of six people, I became plant manager. Under this role we had to grow the factory in two aspects, production and personnel capacity, going from the first 6 passionate electromechanical technicians to 40, and scaling production from less than one bus a week to the current capacity of manufacturing four buses at the same time, period, which translates into the capacity to manufacture 200 buses per year. In Reborn, I belong to the “council of elders” (the oldest is 35 years old). In addition to the founders, Felipe Cevallos and Ricardo Repenning, we are six engineers who have been in the company for more than 4 years, the oldest, who also feel that we are founders. Thanks to that feeling and the cohesion of the team, we have managed to overcome all the difficulties that have arisen, giving everything for this successful project.

Pablo Bravo today

Has been a fast race. For a month now I have been serving as head of the commercial division, a new challenge completely different from the operations area I previously led. My new focus its about executing sales plans, managing marketing campaigns, strengthening brand positioning and developing new businesses. I am very motivated to achieve all the things we have planned for next year.

What feedback have you had in the company regarding your work, how do your colleagues see you?

I feel like Reborn trusts me a lot and I like that. Thanks to this, I have managed to go through various positions and develop many skills: from component design to staff hiring, from leading factory operations to developing new business opportunities.

What do you hope to achieve with Reborn?

Since our beginnings, we have focused on sustainability and we aspire to become a leading company on this field. We are in a constant process of expansion, and my vision is for Reborn to position itself as the main electric bus manufacturing company in Latin America. I am convinced that in Chile there is immense potential for the creation of advanced technology, and I consider that Reborn is and will continue to be a clear example of this.
